FASTRAK East Coast Rumble Round #3 Race Recap at Wythe Raceway!!

UMBERGER GETS HOMETOWN FASTRAK WIN AT WYTHE WHILE FERGUSON BECOMES THE 4TH EAST COAST RUMBLE CHAMPION AT "15TH ANNUAL PRO LATE MODEL NATIONALS"

RURAL RETREAT, VA – For the 15th consecutive season the FASTRAK Racing Series​ powered by Chevrolet Performance closed out the Summer months of motor sports on Sunday evening with the Labor Day weekend spectacular at the high banked half mile Wythe Raceway​ in Rural Retreat, VA in the beautiful Allegheny mountains for the Pro Late Model Nationals and 4th Annual conclusion for the East Coast Rumble. $3000 would be up for grabs to the winner of the labor day spectacular, however #4 Matthew Nance and #00F Carson Ferguson to natives from North Carolina we're separated by a slim 3 point margin going into the finale for the recipient of the FASTRAK East Coast Rumble Heavyweight Championship belt to the (Mini Series) points champion as the race continued for the countdown to the 15th Annual World Championship/World Challenge just a two weeks away. When the race concluded it came down to a great three car battle between #12 Brandon Umberger, #55 Matt Long and #00F Carson Ferguson.

The race saw Umberger and #3 Kenny Peeples Jr. most of the way out in front from the front row, however Peeples would slowly fall backwards while Ferguson and Long would come to the front. The race was halted by a total of 8 yellows slowing the action. On the restarts the top five of those drivers and also #04 David Watts, #75 Brett Hamm and #6 Dillon Brown July FASTRAK tour winner would go at it fighting for the top spot. #4 Matthew Nance to current points leader and Triple Crown grandfather clock recipient would have the "ugly monkey" creep its head at Wythe, as he would have issues from the get go and was forced to retire before the checkers for his first DNF of the 2018 season, that allowed young #00F Carson Ferguson to capitalize and take the 2018 FASTRAK East Coast Rumble Heavyweight Championship belt. While the race conclude the intense action would be stopped for at 20 minute red flag with just two laps to go. On the last restart Long tried all he could to get around Umberger with Ferguson trying to sneak in to take the win too but Umberger would note be denied as he would take his first FASTRAK touring series win since 2016 at Princeton, WV and his 2nd Pro Late Model Nationals at his home track, Wythe Raceway.
