Wythe Raceway and FASTRAK enter 15th season together

Fred Brown, owner of Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, VA has been with FASTRAK from the beginning. Wythe hosts weekly sanctioned FASTRAK races throughout the year and two FASTRAK Racing Series powered by Chevrolet Performance events every season. FASTRAK’s first visit to the high banked half-mile track in 2018 is on May 27th for the last leg of the annual Triple Crown for $3,000 to win. The series will return to Wythe on September 2nd for the $3,000 to win 15th Annual Pro Late Model Nationals, which is also the final race of the 2018 East Coast Rumble.

“Wythe becoming part of the Triple Crown and the Pro Late Model Nationals being a part of the East Coast Rumble has given fans and drivers something to be excited about each season,” said Brown, “The car count has been great and the racing even better.”

The 2018 season will mark the 15th year that Wythe and FASTRAK have been working together. The two have a common goal when it comes to the pro late models, affordability. Over the years, FASTRAK has kept the rules consistent and always keeps the costs at the forefront of all changes. This season is bringing a change to shock and spring rules, one that Brown thinks is going to help.

“FASTRAK’s rules certainly help keep the costs down for drivers,” stated Brown, “For example, the change coming this season in regards to shocks, is going to keep the drivers from having to spend a lot of money on them.”

Above all else, Brown sees that FASTRAK keeps the rules consistent and uniform. It gives teams the ability to travel in the event of a cancellation or rain out.

“FASTRAK has made pro late model racing the same all over the country,” said Brown, “That consistency allows for teams to travel around if they get rained out.”
