COVERT TAKES $5,000 HUB-CITY 100 VICTORY, MILEY CROWNED INAUGURAL SERIES CHAMPION

HAGERSTOWN, MD - Jason Covert of York Haven, Pa., held off a hard charging Gregg Satterlee over the final 20 laps of the event to pick up a victory in the Ultimate Northeast Super Late Model Series inaugural season finale earlier tonight at the Hagerstown Speedway. Covert's Hub-City 100 victory was his first Ultimate Northeast Super Late Model Series victory of the season, and his first career series victory.

Covert inherited the lead a quarter of the way through the event when Kyle Lee of Mercersburg, Pa., spun while entering lapped traffic while leading the event. From there, Covert was able to throwback challenges from Satterlee throughout the event including some cautions where Satterlee pulled slider attempts on Covert.

In time trials, Satterlee shattered the track record turning a lap of 17.089 seconds around the big half mile facility.

As a result of his fourth place finish, Jared Miley of Pittsburgh, Pa., was crowned the inaugural Ultimate Northeast Super Late Model Series champion. Miley's championship victory didn't come easily though as tenth-starting Miley managed to work his way to the front of the field along with Ross Robinson who was only one point behind Miley entering the event. Robinson was running directly behind Miley with 15 laps to go before Robinson experienced mechanical issues that dropped him to 11th at the finish. As a result of his 10th place finish, Matt Cosner finished third in the series standings. Cosner entered the event just five points out of the series lead.
