Southern All Stars Michael Head Jr Memorial June 23rd at Senoia Raceway

FAYETTEVILLE, TN - The Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series presented by Max Fab will be back in action this Saturday night June 23rd at the Senoia Raceway in Senoia, GA., for the Michael Head Jr Memorial, a mainstay on the series tour since 1991 Southern All Stars Series Champion Mike Head lost his son Michael in an attempted carjacking in the city of Atlanta.  The race honors his son and the memories that everybody has of Mike and Michael being at the race track together and Michael just starting his racing career when it was tragically cut short.

The race will be 54 laps in honor of Michael’s number and also his dad’s and will pay $4,000 to win with a $1,454 bonus paid to the winner of the event making the winner’s share $5,454.  Also there will be a $250 bonus to the highest finishing limited late model or 525 crate car in the field.

The 2017 version of this event saw one of the Head family close friend Clint Smith take the win and both were so happy in victory lane.  It looked like back in the early days of the Southern All Stars as those two drivers helped build what has been a 35 year run and still counting

The 2018 version of the Southern All Stars has Jay Scott of Fayetteville, TN., continuing his strong presence in his first year touring as he continues to led the series points, followed by Mark Dodson of Caledonia, MS., in second, Ray McElhiney of Pulaski, TN., in third, Brad Skinner of Spring Hill, TN., in fourth and Eric Hickerson of Linden, TN., rounding out the top five.  All of these drivers are expected to be in action Saturday night at Senoia.

Drivers from across the south that are expected to be in include 2017 Southern All Stars Champion Austin Horton,  four time Southern All Stars Champion Riley Hickman, Joseph Faulkner, Kenny Collins, Tommy Taylor, T J Reaid, Michael Page,  four time Southern All Stars Champion Clint Smith, Zach Leonhardi, Ashton winger, Shane Fulcher, plus many more.

Pit gates open at 3pm, drivers meeting 5:30pm with hot laps 6pm.
