FASTRAK VP RACING FUELS NATIONAL WEEKLY CHAMPIONSHIP SET TO BEGIN THIS WEEKEND
CARNESVILLE, GA - After being delayed for two weeks for continued cold and rainy weather, the time has come for the FASTRAK VP Racing Fuels National Weekly Championship hunt to begin. Drivers will be vying for the title which will pay $10,000 to the 2018 Champion and pays through the top ten. Drivers competing at FASTRAK’s sanctioned race tracks and are FASTRAK members will take their best fifteen finishes of the season to count towards the Championship.
“The weather is finally starting to cooperate with our tracks,” said FASTRAK General Manager DJ Irvine, “I think everyone is ready to hit the track and get the season underway.”
Coming off the weekend that saw twenty-four drivers compete in the King of the Commonwealth with the FASTRAK Racing Series powered by Chevrolet Performance, the attention turns to the FASTRAK VP Racing Fuels National Weekly Championship. Drivers will be competing not only for the National Championship but also FASTRAK’s divisional point funds, Future Star Cups, and other contingencies.
This is the fifteenth season for FASTRAK, as the company to continues to grow, welcoming four new tracks for the 2018 season. Newly sanctioned tracks this year include Clary’s Motor Speedway, 201 Speedway, Eastside Speedway and Natural Bridge Speedway.
All FASTRAK members now receive a $100,000 participant accident medical insurance policy, which includes $10,000 of accidental death and specific loss coverage. Members can also receive a discount on select items from Simpson World in Mooresville, NC, by giving their member numbers.
The points season will continue until Labor Day, September 3rd. FASTRAK members who compete in ten sanctioned events during the points season are eligible to compete in the members-only FASTRAK World Challenge at Virginia Motor Speedway on September 14th, which pays $5,000 to win. The following night, the FASTRAK World Championship will pay $20,000 to win and is open to all Chevrolet Performance Late Models who are legal under the 2018 FASTRAK Rule Book. Virginia Motor Speedway has added non-qualifiers’ races to the 2018 FASTRAK World Championship. The 2019 World Championship at Virginia Motor Speedway will pay $50,000 to win and $2,050 to start in what will be the richest purse in Chevrolet Performance Late Model history.
