Matt Hicks to announce for FASTRAK at Winter Freeze

FASTRAK Racing Series has announced that Matt Hicks of Langley, KY will voice the Pro Late Model action on February 9th and 10th at Screven Motor Speedway, where FASTRAK will kick-off its 15th season.

Hicks will join the FASTRAK family after serving 14 years in the United States Army where he completed multiple combat tours and retired from the 40th MP Battalion as a Staff Sergeant. FASTRAK has always supported the military and is proud to have veterans on its staff.

“We are all very excited about Matt joining us for the Winter Freeze,” said FASTRAK General Manager DJ Irvine, “Its great to bring a veteran on to our staff and he brings a lot of experience that will really help the continuing growth of FASTRAK.”
Hicks brings his experience with Dirt Unlimited, which covers a wide array of dirt racing. He started as a freelance photographer and it quickly grew into doing live pit walks and complete broadcasting of events. Hicks started his own page, Dirt All-Access, which works in conjunction with Dirt Unlimited.

“I am very excited and honored to have the opportunity with FASTRAK,” exclaimed Hicks, “I’m thankful for Stan (Lester) and DJ for bringing me on board and look forward to helping grow FASTRAK.”

While Hicks will be joining FASTRAK for the Winter Freeze in February as the announcer, he may grow into different roles within the company. FASTRAK recently announced the addition of 201 Speedway in Sitka, KY as a Weekly Sanctioned track. The company hopes to continue this expansion in the future.

“After meeting with Matt in Kentucky, we realized his passion for the sport,” said FASTRAK Founder Stan Lester, “We are confident he will be a great addition to our staff.”
