Screven’s Harvest Hustle Cancelled Ahead of Dorian Uncertainty
Sylvania, Georgia - Screven Motor Speedway promoter James “Redd” Griffin announced today that the Inaugural Harvest Hustle scheduled for September 7th has been cancelled due to the uncertainty of travel, local damage and other factors related to Hurricane Dorian.
“The hurricane path and destruction leaves is just so unpredictable. And while this area could get lucky, other areas around us won’t. We have been through this same thing in years past and even without sustaining much damage of our own, so many of our neighbors and fans were hit hard. There is the chance for damage and flooding here. But we also have to consider those that would travel to be here. Traffic, fuel shortages, money concerns and so many other things just have to be our concern. We will have other races. Right now we are just hoping and praying that somehow everyone is spared and the damage is minimal.” Griffin commented.
The Southern All Star events will not be made up however the Southeastern Modifieds will likely be added to the next schedule event which is the Georgia State Champions set for November 22nd and 23rd.
