NORRIS DOMINATES RED MILEY RUMBLE AT PPMS

IMPERIAL, PA - Michael Norris of Sarver, Pa., grabbed an early lead from the outside pole and led all 35 laps en route to a $5,053 victory in the Ultimate Northeast Super Late Model Series Red Miley Rumble at Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway. Norris crossed the finish line 3.493 seconds ahead of runner-up Alex Ferree.

The victory was Norris' third Red Miley Rumble victory in as many tries as he has had to win the event. As a result of the victory Norris is now eligible for a provisional for the Pittsburgher 100 in October sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Dirt Series. If Norris qualifies for the event, the provisional will go to the highest finishing driver from the Red Miley Rumble who does not qualify for the Pittsburgher 100.

Current Ultimate Northeast points leader Jared Miley had an eventful night en route to a 12th place finish. While leading his heat race, Miley's right front shock broke while entering turn three sending him hard into the guardrail.

The bonus money that Norris received for the victory was as a result of him competing in the Herb Scott Memorial on June 30th, and event in which he was leading before a flat tire sent him pitside with seven laps to go. $1,000 of the bonus came from Steven Heiser, while $1,053 came from Miley Motorsports.

The Ultimate Super Late Model Series Northeast Region will be back in action again on Saturday July 21st as the Series will return to Hagerstown Speedway located in Hagerstown, Maryland for the annual "Red Nininger Memorial" event paying $5,000 to win.
