Watkins Post Race Inspection Results In DQ; Emory Declared FUEL Carolina Speedway Event Winner

At the conclusion of the June 29th FUEL Racing Series event at Carolina Speedway, post race inspection was completed by series officials. During this inspection, a fuel sample from the winner was taken and secured for analysis at an independently contracted laboratory.

The result of this analysis have confirmed that the fuel does not comply with the guidelines set forth in the FUEL Racing Series Rulebook. As a result of these findings, series officials are in the process of correcting the official rundown from the June 29th event at Carolina Speedway beginning with Robbie Emory being declared as the official winner.

The FUEL Racing Series staff extends its appreciation to everyone involved for their professionalism and, at his request, has agreed to include the following statement from Ben Watkins in this release.

"First we would like to thank the series for working with us in a professional manner during this difficult situation and we respect the series, officials, and employees of FUEL. With that being said we are very disappointed with the final decision and we assure our fans and team that we did not intentionally break the rules pertaining to fuel. We pride ourselves in operating within the sanctioning body's rules and ran a VP product that was represented as a legal product. We would never jeopardize our championship hopes by adding an illegal additive to our fuel. We are in contact with VP Fuels to figure out what the issue is with the said product. I will add more as we continue to work with VP to figure out what caused the sitiation and hopefully keep anything like this from ever happening again."
