FASTRAK RACING SERIES SET FOR $3,000 TO WIN USA 100 ON JUNE 16TH AT VMS

CARNESVILLE, GA - The FASTRAK Racing Series powered by Chevrolet Performance is set for its second visit to Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway for the 2018 season. This time for the 42nd Annual USA 100, paying $3,000 to win and $275 to start. The ½ mile Jamaica, VA track will also be hosting the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series for $20,000 to win.

This the final stop at Virginia Motor Speedway for the FASTRAK Racing Series powered by Chevrolet Performance before the 2018 FASTRAK World Championship weekend, on September 14th and 15th. Drivers will have their chance for “paid practice” before the World Championship during the USA 100. The World Championship weekend kicks off on Friday, September 14th with the $5,000 to win FASTRAK World Challenge, which is for FASTRAK members only who have competed in a minimum of 10 FASTRAK sanctioned races throughout the year. The following night is the FASTRAK World Championship, paying $20,000 to the winner and $575 to start. The 2018 incarnation of the World Championship will feature non-qualifier’s races, giving more competitors the chance to race for purse money. In 2019, the FASTRAK World Championship will pay $50,000 to win and $2,050 to start.

In FASTRAK’s first trip to Virginia Motor Speedway this season, Ross Bailes, who is currently second in points, scored the $3,000 victory on April 14th. Bailes has won back to back FASTRAK Racing Series powered by Chevrolet Performance races, also winning the first leg of the Triple Crown at 311 Motor Speedway. The races at Princeton Speedway and Wythe Raceway were postponed due to rain, a rescheduled date will be announced soon.

By way of a top five finish in each of the first four races this season, Matthew Nance sits atop the points standings heading into the USA 100. The Ronda, NC driver has a 25-point lead over Bailes. Kenny Peeples, Logan Roberson, and Corey Almond round out the top five.
Last year, Benji Hicks of Mt. Airy, won the FASTRAK portion of the USA 100. The win was part of his 2017 run to claim the FASTRAK Racing Series powered by Chevrolet Performance Championship.

The stars and cars of the FASTRAK Racing Series powered by Chevrolet Performance will battle for 40 laps around Virginia Motor Speedway in the 42nd Annual USA 100. Gates open at 4pm, with hot laps beginning at 6pm and racing at 7pm. Features are slated to begin at 9pm on June 16th.
