201 Speedway Announcement: Four Cylinder Division Discontinued

(May 17, 2018) - After much discussion and deliberation between Staff Members and Officials a decision has been made to discontinue the Four Cylinder Division as of May 17th until further notice. Staff members came to this hard decision on the basis that four cylinders have not supported the class going back to the fall season of 2017. Promoter Steve Howard stated, "We really struggled with this but felt that the class does not have enough support to continue, we had one last week and four on opening night and last season about the same". Some may question why four cylinders and not other classes that have had some lower counts, but we feel the other classes that are running somewhat lower counts than we want are new to the area and we think these classes are on an upward spiral as teams see that we are going to support them such as the KDRA Super Stocks, Fastrak Crates, and the class we think is replacing the Four Cylinders, Sport Mods, explained Howard. Four Cylinders have been around for a long time and the declining counts is troubling because this is not a new class. We feel this is the best decision and the Sport Mod Division will fill the void for a start up class that is economical. Next event is June 2nd.
