FASTRAK season opener at Screven Motor Speedway Feb 9 and 10

In less than a month the FASTRAK Racing Series will roar into the 2018 season at Screven Motor Speedway’s Winter Freeze. Winter Freeze VIII will be held February 9th and 10th. The event will feature two complete shows for the FASTRAK Racing Series. The Pro Late Models will compete for $2,000 to win on Friday, the 9th, and $3,000 to win on Saturday, the 10th.

With FASTRAK’s Night of Champions banquet only two weeks before the Winter Freeze on January 27th, officials have announced the event will be ran under the 2017 rule book. FASTRAK hosts an annual rules meeting during the day leading up to the Night of Champions. This will give teams plenty of time to get their cars prepared for the rest of the 2018 schedule.

The 2018 season will mark FASTRAK’s 15th year of competition, as the series began in 2004. There are currently 20 races on the tentative schedule, which will be formally released in the coming days. Drivers chasing the 2018 Championship will embark on their journey for the $10,000 to win points fund. The 2017 Champion was Benji Hicks of Mt. Airy, NC.

FASTRAK will be joined at the Winter Freeze by the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Models and the Sport Compact Dirt Racing Association. Open practice will be held on Thursday, February 8th.
